| Winter Lunch |
Our Winter Lunch with the ladies was held again this year at the Risbygate Sports Club following our successful 40 year anniversary lunch of our formation last year. Once again the agreeable lunch was provided by Carol Hubbard and her team. We were honoured to have as guests Laurie and Sylvie Marshall from Probus 1 with Ian Orr and Margaret Morrison representing Probus 3. First prize of a hamper was won by Mollie Evans who very kindly offered some of the contents to be redrawn as extra prizes. Thank you Mollie and a pleasure to have you with us. |

| The Summer Outing to Waldringfield |
We met at Beyton Church car park at 9-00am on Tuesday 15 October 2019. We arrived at the Suffolk Food Hall close to the Orwell Bridge for a coffee and shop stop at 10-00am. Crossing the Orwell Bridge we made our way to Waldringfield on the River Deben in time for a short walk along the beach, followed by lunch in the Maybush Pub. At 2-00pm we boarded the motor cruiser Jahan for a delightful cruise towards the Deben estuary at Felixstowe Ferry. Returning on a falling tide we saw seals on the mud flats and a variety of uncommon seabirds. All this and we were still back in Beyton by 5-00pm. A great day out. |

| Day at the Cricket - Bury St Edmunds v Mildenhall |
Some of our members are either cricket enthusiasts or else know nothing about the game at all. With this in mind the Chairman contacted his friend and President of the Bury St Edmunds Cricket Club with a view to spending a day at a match at the Victory Ground. It was arranged that we should attend the "Local Derby" match versus Mildenhall. Ladies were invited too and lunch would be provided on the day after the players had finished theirs. Sadly, nobody had told the Weather Girls and the resulting rain called a halt to procedings after only one innings was completed. Nevertheless a good time was had by all and explanations were given for such technical terms as Maiden Over, No Ball and Backward Short Leg. |
